On 8th May, The Hastings Opportunity Area is launching a fund of £250,000 for community organisations to deliver free enrichment activities for Hastings children and young people. Local organisations that provide activities such as art, sports, technology, sport, music, food and outdoor pursuits will be able to apply for funding.

The HOA team is inviting organisations who are interested in learning more about the fund and the successful work that has been delivered to date, to attend a conference / seminar on Wednesday 8th May, from 6-8pm at Horntye Park Sports Centre, Bohemia Road, Hastings, where information about the application process will be discussed. The event will also look back at the successes and learning from the programme to date.

Graham Peters, chair of the Hastings Opportunity Area Broadening Horizons Working Party said “Broadening children and young people’s outlook and experience with access to activities like sport, the arts and the outdoors are incredibly important. We have been delighted to work with some inspiring service providers , many from Hasting over the last 12 months, and we are very pleased to be in a position to renew funding ensuring even more children will  benefit.”

Community organisations will be able to apply for funding up to £10,000 to run activities over the summer holiday period, and up to £30,000 for activities that run through the 2019/20 school year on evenings and weekends.
