The Hastings Opportunity Area (HOA) is welcoming in the New Year with a renewed fund for summer holiday activities for children and young people. Community organisations and activity providers can apply for up to £5,000 for activities such as sport, arts, music, food, tech and outdoor pursuits running between July 23rd and August 28th, with a total of £50,000 available.
The fund is specifically designed to provide activities for 4 – 18 year olds in the most deprived wards in the borough. The closing date for applications is Friday 6th March 2020 at 5.00pm. Application forms with full information can be downloaded below.
Last summer, more than 2000 children and young people attended over 200 hours of free activities funded by the HOA, including free junior BMX sessions with Source Park, football with Albion in the Community and creative arts sessions with Culture Shift.
“We were thrilled to see so many children, young people and families benefiting from the activities which so many fantastic organisations worked hard to provide last summer,” said Graham Peters, chair of the HOA’s Broadening Horizons Working Group. “And we are delighted that we are able to fund further activities for summer 2020.”
